What is the difference between the Grafalloy Blue and the ProLaunch Blue?
Grafalloy Blue and the ProLaunch Blue differ mainly in trajectory. Blue features a lower ball flight with a penetrating trajectory. ProLaunch features a more responsive tip section producing a high launch angle. Typically Blue is a shaft more suited for stronger swingers and ProLaunch for average swing speeds. Both feature Grafalloy’s “blue” tip technology featuring a proprietary Micro-Mesh™ design that reduces head twisting at impact.

What is frequency?
Frequency is the measurement of the butt stiffness (stiffness at the grip end) of a particular shaft. For years custom clubfitters have used butt frequency as the measurement tool to compare the specific stiffness between various shafts. The shaft is placed into a frequency analyzer and oscillated either up and down or side to side. A counter on the analyzer calculates the cycles per minute (CPM). The higher the CPM reading, the stiffer the shaft and visa-versa. However, butt frequency does not take into account the tip design of a particular shaft. Therefore it is critical to identify the type of ball flight you desire to achieve and find a shaft with proper tip characteristics to optimize trajectory. Visit www.shaftfit.com for more information about finding the right shaft for your game.

What are the benefits of the nano-tube technology found in the Grafalloy
Prototype Comp NT?

Simply put…carbon nanotubes are the strongest structures ever identified on planet Earth. A typical graphite shaft is made up of 70% carbon fiber and 30% resin. While resin plays a crucial role in the adhesion of the carbon fibers, it contributes virtually nothing to the overall strength characteristics of the shaft. The Prototype Comp NT combines revolutionary carbon nanotubes into the resin system to dramatically improve the strength properties of the shaft. In addition, the enhanced bonding properties improve alignment of the carbon fibers for ultimate material consistency.

I have a Grafalloy shaft that is not on the website. Why is that?
Grafalloy manufactures many shafts that are proprietary to specific club manufacturers. A proprietary shaft is one that is built solely for one particular company and will not be found in our catalogs due to exclusivity.
