Every so often there is a scientific breakthrough that is truly world changing. Nanotechnology is such a technology. Referred to as the area of science that is most likely to produce the breakthroughs of tomorrow, Nanotechnology holds infinite promise both now and in the future for many aspects of our lives.

Grafalloy, the pioneer in ultralite composite golf shaft design, tasked their forward-thinking engineers with utilizing nanotechnology. The result is our Prototype Comp NT, one of the most advanced golf shaft designs ever created.

How Nanotechnology Works:

A golf shaft is composed of two primary elements: Fiber and Resin. The fiber provides the vast majority of the strength and flex properties of the shaft while the resin is essentially the glue responsible for holding the composite fibers together. Until now the resin was the weak link of the golf shaft, contributing little to the strength of the structure.

By impregnating the resin system of the shaft with microscopic carbon nanotubes, nature¹s smallest and strongest structures, Grafalloy¹s engineers are able to not only increase the shaft¹s strength, but also improve the alignment of the fibers themselves. The result? The strongest, most consistent composite golf shaft ever created.

The Prototype Comp NT is available in both a 65 and 85 gram wood shaft as well as the new Comp NT Hybrid shaft. Please read up these and other advanced Grafalloy shafts and experience tomorrow¹s technologies today.

Carbon nanotubes are combined with the resin to dramatically increase the strength and improve alignment of the carbon fibers.

Carbon nanotubes represent a radical breakthrough in technology and are exponentially stronger than the typical materials found in golf shaft design today.
