ProLite Claims US Amateur Championship
August 29, 2005
Week in and out, Grafalloy continues to solidify its position as a leading
premium graphite shaft on tour and this week was no exception. As the final
Champion’s Tour major, the JELD-WEN Tradition, rolled into Oregon this
weekend Grafalloy shafts were seemingly everywhere. ProLaunch continued to
expand its dominant presence with nearly twice as many shafts in play as the
nearest competitor. In addition, ProLaunch HY was also the preferred hybrid
wood shaft by a 2-1 margin. Overall Grafalloy Shafts dominated the event with
69 wood shafts in play.
Over at the U.S. Amateur Championship it was more of
the same as the game’s
elite amateurs relied on Grafalloy wood shafts to compete for the most prestigious
amateur title in the world. Trusting ProLite in his driver, the 24-year old
US Amateur champion overcame an early deficit and became the first Italian
to claim the title. This victory earns the young champion exemptions into
the U.S. Open and Masters Tournaments next year. Overall there were an impressive
91 Grafalloy shafts put into play at the event.
ProLaunch’s trajectory-optimizing
design is among Grafalloy’s
most popular shafts on all major tours each week. Featuring a proprietary
