FAQs

1.  What is the difference between the ProLaunch Axis shafts and the ProLaunch Shafts?

The original ProLaunch line of shafts was the first series of shafts designed using launch monitor feedback to optimize both launch angle and spin rate. The three different launch windows are divided into a color coded system, Red for a low launch and low spin piercing trajectory, Platinum for a slightly higher launch angle that maintains a low spin rate and Blue for golfers who want to increase their launch angle for increased carry distance.

In 2009 we introduced the ProLaunch Axis line, an upgraded version of the original ProLaunch Series. The shafts still have the familiar color code/launch conditions of the original family but with Axis technology incorporated. The Axis Technology relies on Smart Ply materials to stabilize the cross section of the shaft which improves dispersion and reduces energy lost to shaft ovalization.

2.  What driver shafts would you recommend for a lower spin?

For a person looking for a low spin driver shaft we would recommend either of our Red Series shafts or our Grafalloy Tour shaft which is available through our Performance Fitting Center dealer program. The ProLaunch Red and Grafalloy Tour X are two of the all-time winningest shafts on tours worldwide and are frequently used by stronger tour players looking for a piercing trajectory.

3.  Now that the Grafalloy Blue is discontinued what is the comparable shaft?

The Grafalloy Blue was designed for the extremely strong player who was looking for the ultimate in spin reduction. The best replacement option would be our current low spin, low launch product, the ProLaunch Red, tipped 1".
